Error with Gigabyte B660 Gaming X CPU.
Hello everyone, I’m sorry for the unclear English in my previous messages. I need to write this on my mobile device. I’m planning to assemble my own PC after six years of using a pre-built one. The motherboard is a Gigabyte B660 Gaming X DDR4 (128 GB, Socket 1700/B660/DDR4/S-ATA 600/ATX) with an Intel i5 12400 12th Gen CPU. I’m using a Pure Power 11 FM PSU (550W, 80+ Gold, modular BN317). The case fans are the VENT 120X120 LIAN LI UNI FAN SL120 NEGRO KIT X3UD (3 pcs, 1900RPM, PWM/ARGB G99.12UF3B.00). For cooling, I’m using a Corsair iCUE H150i RGB Elite. My RAM is Corsair Vengeance RGB PRO 64GB. The GPU is a GTX 1060 with 6GB from Asus. I have roughly 4TB storage—two HDDs and a 250GB M.2 SSD. When everything is assembled and powered on, the fans start, the RAM RGB activates, etc. But the motherboard shows a red light on the bottom right, which according to the manual suggests a CPU issue. After trying various fixes—replacing the CPU 8-pin, checking fan placement, removing and reinserting the CPU, resetting the BIOS—I still can’t resolve it. The CPU might be faulty. Do you have any suggestions on what else I could try? Also, I thought the power supply might be too weak. Here’s a link to my setup: https://ibb.co/qCG8NDs and https://ibb.co/7bPZyJT
Removing the RAM module, changing the slots, etc.—poor RAM sometimes leads to CPU issues
I noticed that point. Your setup seems a bit off, especially with the RAM amount compared to the hardware specs. Also, your build looks unbalanced. You have 64GB of RAM but a low-end GPU and mid-range CPU. It’s interesting you invested so much in RAM while not upgrading the core components.
Tests are performed outside the case on a rubber mat or the MB box. This isn't the first Lian Li case with issues in this forum. A budget 550W PSU intended for gaming isn't suitable here. Today's 450-650W PSUs are meant for all-in-one builds without performance upgrades. For CPU concerns, many board makers release a BIOS update before testing, which could be the best option for your system.
Power is supplied, but the GPU fan spins instead of the display.
