I’d prepare for a new Windows setup. Obtain a USB drive and create a bootable Windows install from Microsoft’s tool. Back up your data to the cloud or another storage device. Perform a clean Windows installation or at least attempt a repair. For an older laptop that hasn’t had Windows reinstalled recently, a fresh install is usually beneficial and can improve performance.

Is this a personal user profile or a Microsoft account? If it’s a local account, set up a new admin profile account. Ensure all your previous files are shared with everyone.
