I just went out to eat. When I got back, my computer was off. I turned it on and logged in, then opened Chrome. I checked the PCMasterrace subreddit and suddenly saw a BSOD appear. I’m worried about what might have caused this. I only installed new Windows updates and tried to update Java, which failed mid-install. Anyone know what could have triggered it? XMP is a memory configuration you don’t have to worry about with your 1600mhz RAM. It’s unlikely to be the cause, though a random crash can happen sometimes due to unforeseen software issues. Don’t stress unless it repeats often.

I reviewed the Windows Event Viewer and noticed the failed Java installation. So far, I’ve removed those Java updater tools. After talking with Windows tech support, I’m considering a full Windows reinstall. I’m still encountering numerous errors in the Event Viewer each day, though they appear to be minor. I installed Steam three days ago, and this has been happening.
