Error number 28 indicates a Wi-Fi link issue with the network controller.
Hi, I typically connect my PC via Ethernet using a TP link extender for internet access. Recently, the extender stopped working. I attempted to switch to Wi-Fi by plugging in an aerial, but it didn’t turn on. I reviewed my drivers and discovered error code 28 on the network controller. I rebooted, updated the B550 motherboard drivers, checked for Windows updates, and installed driver updaters, yet nothing resolved the issue. I also tried a USB Wi-Fi aerial, which worked once after installing its driver, but it didn’t provide internet access—possibly a different problem. My only internet-capable drivers are Realtek 2.5 G family controller, Bluetooth devices, and various WAN adapters. Is this error code 28 guiding me toward the right solution? Maybe a specific driver combination or another fix is needed? The standard Aorus aerial I have came with the motherboard box.
