Error: New SSD detected, causing BSOD.
I placed a 2TB P5 Plus SSD in a Sabrent PCIe expansion card. The system starts up in Windows but freezes after logging in, showing a blue screen with the error "Stop code: Kernel Security Check Failure." Removing the card resolves the issue. I managed to boot into safe mode where I initialized the drive without problems. Any suggestions would be helpful.
The issue might stem from driver problems or malware. I recommend performing a free trial scan with Malwarebytes. If the problem occurs only when the card is connected, it could indicate physical damage. Try using safemode to reinstall drivers for both the drive and the card. If that fails, consider returning the card for a replacement of the same model or a different brand if available. Alternatively, test the SSD with another drive or motherboard to pinpoint the faulty component.
Confirming the details. There exist two categories of NVMe SSDs: PCIe and SATA. Ensure the card and SSD share compatible interfaces? PCIe is currently more prevalent.
