The hard drive in my old desktop was failing and the Windows 7 setup wouldn't start. I made a clone of the drive to a working one before trying to fix the installation. I've entered recovery mode and completed a chkdsk scan, which reached stage 4 then stopped at 28% for several hours before resuming. Running SFC didn't help, and the "Windows Resource Protection" error appeared when I tried it. After chkdsk, the "ICACLS" command worked without issues, but the SFC still failed. I haven't found any other solutions and don’t want to reinstall Windows. I encounter a blue screen during normal or safe boot attempts, but the system restarts quickly—before the blue screen stays visible for more than a tenth of a second. The minidump folder is empty, so I can’t review the crash logs. Also, anyone have any advice on where to obtain a Windows 7 Home Premium SP1 32/64-bit ISO? It seems the Microsoft download page shows my key as a Korean version.
