Error message about CPU fan.
Hey everyone, my board is a ROG Strix Z370-E Gaming. About two to three days ago I encountered a CPU fan issue that stopped me from booting. I went into BIOS and simply ignored the CPU fan instead of monitoring it. Since I don’t have any other devices connected through that port (I’m using an AIO cooler via CPU fan opt), I thought this was the safest approach.
I have a couple of questions: Why did I suddenly get a CPU fan error? I haven’t experienced it before and have been running this setup for roughly 3 to 4 years.
If you need more details about what’s connected to my PC, just let me know and I can help. Whenever I restart or turn on the system, I have to revisit BIOS and repeat what I did by ignoring the fan.
Should I repeat this every time I power on the machine moving forward? I’m aware the rig is old, and someone mentioned my Corsair Hydro Series H100i AIO pump could be faulty. I checked iCue and here’s what it shows: the fan runs at 1500 RPM idle, the pump is at 1900 RPM idle with a temperature of 36.50°C. Do bad pumps trigger a CPU fan error?
TIA: Maybe I posted in the wrong section. If that’s the case, could someone move this to the right place? Thanks a lot.

This situation is actually quite typical. My Corsair H110i GTX experienced this about a year ago. Sometimes it can be resolved by taking the unit apart and checking the pump for blockages, which are usually easy to clear. As shown in the example: older Corsair AIO models often face this problem after prolonged use.
I don't experience his symptoms either. My readings stay stable, never exceeding 100 degrees. I believe the temperature stays below 50-55°C. There are no power interruptions or random shutdowns of my rig. I'm puzzled as to why my CPU reports an error while iCue software confirms everything is normal.
Use a voltmeter to measure the battery voltage. The device you mentioned is an LCD digital voltmeter with ohmmeter and ammeter functions. Did you place the pump above or below the radius indicator?
It's an all-in-one unit with just the heatsink for pumping. The radiator is placed at the front of the frame, pointing straight up.
No, you don’t need to repeat this each time you power on your PC. Once you’ve ignored the CPU fan in BIOS, it stays that way unless you change it again.
