Hello everyone, welcome! I apologize in advance if my English isn't clear since it's not my native language. I've upgraded an old PC from my neighbor using an Intel Pentium E2140 with FSB800 motherboard and set it up as a retro console with Batocera Linux. My issue is that the only way to boot into the OS is with a connected keyboard. I've looked into the BIOS but didn't find an option to bypass this problem. Are there any alternatives besides buying a cheap keyboard and leaving it plugged in? I'm considering this as my last resort, as I don't want a useless keyboard hanging around. I noticed some fake USB devices that look like keyboards on AliExpress, but customs could double the cost plus shipping, making it not worth it.

Find a used USB keyboard at a low price. Disassemble it and remove the board. It’s quite compact. Plug it back in and store it somewhere safe. Refer to the image for guidance; you’ll need that small green circuit board.
