I didn't realize where to place this. If you know a better spot, consider moving it. I'm facing problems with StarWars Battlefront 2015 lately. My system meets the requirements. I've updated drivers up to October 6, 2016. Whenever I press ALT+Tab or use the search bar, my game sometimes crashes. The error message reads: DirectX function "Dx11Renderer::tryMap" failed with DXGI_ERROR_DEVICE_REMOVED ("The video card has been physically removed from the system, or a driver upgrade for the video card has occurred."). My GPU is an Nvidia GTX 970, driver version 37290. This usually happens because the graphics driver stops working; try fresh drivers. Also, ensure you have a supported card with at least 2GB RAM. I'm not overclocking. I've done a DDU clean install twice and re-installed through Geforce Experience 3. Please assist. I'm running the game at full resolution 1080p with a 1.3x scale in windowed fullscreen. Appreciate your help.

The issue has been ongoing for some time, with many different systems involved. It's not limited to Battlefront specifically. The most probable cause seems to be a DirectX problem when GPUs are pushed beyond their limits, even factory overclocking can contribute. Many users have noted that restricting the GPU to its original specifications resolved the issue.

Many solutions have been suggested, and most users agree on this one approach. You can search online for "DXGI_ERROR_DEVICE_REMOVED" and explore alternative methods or submit a support ticket to EA at their contact page. The decision remains yours.
