Error in D4 PCI configuration.
Error in D4 PCI configuration.
Hey there! I've been facing a D4 error on my Gigabyte AX270 gaming k7 for quite some time now. It hasn't affected how the system runs—no crashes, no visible frame drops. At first I just brushed it off. Now I'm hoping it will disappear. When I restart, it shows an A0 code, which I think is normal. But after a few minutes it reappears. I've swapped out the RAM multiple times, even replacing faulty sticks, but the issue still comes back. I've tried different RAM modules and setups. It seems like the problem might be with the board itself, especially when XMP is enabled. I only changed the timing settings once—just turned on XMP and that's it. If anyone has suggestions or tests to try, let me know. Thanks for your help, and sorry for the lengthy update.
It’s not a major concern. The issue stems from the fact that it’s a post code, mainly a reference than an actual error. Since we lack details about system specifications or PCI usage, this code holds no specific meaning. For instance, with multiple M2 drives and a video card in a PCI slot, you might simply run out of resources, and the code just signals that. For true error codes, you’d expect audible beeps from a speaker, which act as direct fault warnings. You can troubleshoot by checking if the post code changes or disappears after removing a drive or card. Ultimately, it’s usually nothing to stress over—just ignore it. If you need beep codes and post codes, they’re available in this thread for easy lookup. Hope this clarifies things!
Thanks for the feedback. I should have mentioned my specifications earlier. The setup includes an i7 7700k with 16GB RAM, 3200 RPM, and two 8GB and two 1TB M.2 NVMe drives (new D4 drives were installed before). It also features a Gigabyte Gaming OC 2080 Super, and the previous Gigabyte AORUS Z270 Gaming K7 Mobo was used.
It seems you're curious about a possible software update. Be sure to heed Gigabyte's guidelines closely.
Lately things have been updated a bit. If my D4 stays with me, that's fine. Just as long as it doesn't create any problems lol.
