Yesterday I started my desktop PC and entered my password as usual. I’ve owned this machine and user for about seven years; it ran Windows 7. When Windows 10 arrived, I waited a while before switching, then connected the account to my Microsoft profile. It still accepted my old pre-Windows password without issues. Going back to yesterday, I logged in but the password failed. I checked for caps lock but couldn’t resolve it. I changed the Microsoft account password and used that one, but nothing worked. I tried accessing another admin-level account on the PC and changing its password, but it refused. I have many important files here, so what happened and how can I fix this?
