Error encountered with Win2012r2 ADWS 1400
Hi, the 1400 error usually relates to a certificate issue. Since you're not sure about its purpose, you can try ignoring it temporarily if you're confident it won’t affect your operations. However, ensure your server has a valid certificate installed and trusted for security reasons. If unsure, consult your IT team or check documentation for proper handling.
Launch the MMC console, insert certificates snap-in as the local machine. In the sidebar select Personal > Certificates, then click right-click in the main area to request a new certificate. Then verify the domain controller status, followed by checking all related components.
This message indicates that the specific certificate type you're asking about isn't offered. It's meant to clarify that you might be missing something important. You should obtain this because it's necessary for your situation, even if you haven't seen it before. Let me know if you need further details!
If you're not relying on Active Directory web services, this information can be disregarded. The AD web services certificate is only applicable when establishing an SSL connection to your internal AD via tools like PowerShell or managing AD from a desktop environment. Do you think you're using the user and computer snap-ins (admin tools) on the server for domain management?
I don’t use any snap-ins or MMC until now. I’ve never even heard of them. The domain exists just so we can have one account across all PCs, which automatically logs in and keeps files synced. Some settings like background power options are there to avoid having to change them on every machine. I’m only using Active Directory, I’m 18, and I don’t know anything about servers. Setting it up was really tough for me, so I think we should have someone with tech experience, but it’s going to be expensive!
