Error encountered with Stalker 2 using DirectX on a Windows 11 laptop.
Hey there!
I've faced a bothersome problem with Stlaker 2 on my laptop. Whenever I attempt to start it through Steam or by opening the .exe file in the games folder, I encounter a pop-up message stating:
"The issue exists only on my laptop, which has Ryzen 9 7845HX, RTX 4060 and 16Gb DDR5 RAM. Other games run perfectly fine without any issues."
On my PC with a Ryzen 7 5800X, 3070 Ti, and 32 GB DDR4 RAM, the game has worked flawlessly without any problems. Both systems are running Windows 11 Pro, and the NVIDIA drivers are up to date.
I've tried several solutions:
- Downloaded and installed the DirectX Runtime Web Installer from Microsoft, but it keeps saying a newer version is already installed.
- Used the DirectX Redist (June 2010), which usually assists with older games, though it still reports a DirectX Runtime error during launch.
- Disabled my integrated GPU, ensured the game uses my 4060, and ran in performance or turbo mode—still no success.
- Removed all nVidia drivers and reinstalled them multiple times without resolving the issue.
- Attempted to run the game as an administrator or in compatibility mode on older systems.
- Verified file integrity and re-downloaded the game several times, but nothing changed.
If anyone here is more tech-savvy, I'd appreciate your advice—this seems like a unique problem, and all previous steps didn't help.

You might want to try reading again. None of those solutions helped. For anyone facing this problem, the solution involved downloading actual directx .dll files and placing them in the "Binaries" folder. After making that change, the issue was fixed and the games ran smoothly. Mods, you can close this thread. Thank you.
