Hey everyone, I’m trying to switch from Windows 7 to Windows 8 (and then 8.1) because of a memory upgrade. I was told to remove Intel Network Connections first. After some time in the registry editor, I thought I’d finished, but it didn’t work. Now I need to uninstall 'Intel Wired Proset for windows,' which doesn’t seem to exist on my system and shouldn’t have been removed with the previous steps. I’ve been searching through the registry but can’t find a way. Have anyone else faced this problem and found a solution? No one seems to have shared helpful tips. Thanks!

To address the concern, I resolved the matter by maintaining only personal files. After installation, I revisited the settings and selected 'keep personal files and applications.' This allowed me to update and retain all my applications.
