Hi, I'm here to assist your friend with updating his Windows. I suggested he try troubleshooting steps, but the issue persists. He checked services and still encountered the error code 1058. Are there other solutions we should explore?

You may attempt to configure the service startup mode to "automatic" as suggested by MS support for error 1058, and/or execute "SFC /scannow" via an elevated Command Prompt to resolve issues automatically. If these steps fail, a Windows update reset script is available that could assist further. (I don’t claim ownership of the script; I’m simply sharing it.) Reset_Reregister_Windows_Update_Components_for_Windows11.bat
