You're dealing with a tricky setup situation. The installation directory isn't reachable from another system, even though you managed it during an SSD upgrade. Booting into Linux helped you access the needed files. Now you're facing an error during Windows setup: "Setup was unable to create a new system partition or locate and existing system partition..." Since you've cleared all partitions—including the recovery partition—you only have one main partition left. Consider checking if the drive has physical errors, trying a different installation method, or consulting the manufacturer's support for further guidance.

Power down the Linux live CD and locate a method to fully erase the entire disk and its partitions. Ensure a fresh partition is set up on the Windows installation as well.

I’d handle it by removing the partitions through Disk Utility. Yes, I’ve double-checked that I created a partition for installation during the Windows setup process.

There seems to be an issue creating the partition, possibly indicating a faulty drive. Consider downloading a fresh installer for the operating system you're trying to set up. Have you connected the drive to another functional system and checked if additional partitions show up in "This PC" or "My Computer"?

-Running a valid Windows 7 Home Premium SP1 x64 ISO works just fine now. At first, I used an AIO Windows 7 installer that supports multiple editions. Ubuntu only recognizes a single partition on the disk.
