Hello. I’m facing a problem after upgrading my PC to AM5. When I boot Windows and have two M.2 SSDs with the graphics card installed, it freezes after a short while. Pressing the double-click button works for some apps, but then everything stops completely. I had to perform a hard reset. It seems to work again whenever I... A: unplug the GPU or B: remove the secondary SSD. It looks like the issue might be related to PCIe lanes. Still unsure how to resolve it. I really need help right now. OS is Windows 11 (64bit). Specs include a CPU, RAM, storage drives, and graphics card.

Consider adjusting the PCI-E connections to 3.0 in the BIOS settings. Your RAM seems to be operating at 7200, which is quite fast for a X3D system!

I attempted both settings: configured the PCIe lane for my GPU on Gen 3 and disabled the XMP profile at 5200MHz. I plan to review this tomorrow and rest now.

They offer M.2 options as well, if they are available.

The manual indicates that when the M.2_3 slot is in use during PCIe mode, the PCIe 4.0 x 16 slot will be turned off. This could relate to your issue.

I located the settings already. I’ll attempt to reinstall my GPU and will inform you once it’s resolved. The M.2_3 port isn’t occupied; I’m only utilizing M.2_1 and _2. I’m avoiding the second PCIe x16 slot, opting instead for the fastest PCIe 5.0 connection, but configured to 3.0 in BIOS.

I actually resolved the problem. I turned off the built-in graphics in my BIOS, and once Windows started, it automatically added a new device called PCI bus. It’s no longer freezing with the 2.5-inch SSD and my GPU installed. It seems like it disabled the PCI lanes. I’m just relieved it’s working now. Thanks for all the help!
