Error encountered while installing audio drivers on Windows 7 Pro.
UI just set up Windows 7 Professional 64bit on my PC. I'm trying to get the audio drivers for my MSI Z97-G43 motherboard. I downloaded the newest driver from their site, and everything seems fine until the end. Then an error pops up: 'Install Realtek HD Audio Driver Failure !! [Error Code: 0x000000FF]'. After that, a module stops working. I tried installing it manually via Device Manager, but it says 'Windows encountered a problem installing the driver software for your device' and 'The extended attributes are inconsistent.' When I used the automatic method, the same issue appeared. Now only a basic driver is installed, but I can't use anything. This is urgent—I need speakers to work! Please help!
Check if the audio chip is active in BIOS settings. Also, ensure the chipset driver is installed before proceeding.
