I recently assembled a new PC for my dad, who previously had a Dell all-in-one with a 1TB HDD. The system now features a 1TB NVMe SSD, which I housed in an enclosure and connected to his existing PC. After formatting it, I began cloning using Disk Genius. However, during the final stage—approximately five minutes with about 30GB remaining out of around 300GB—I encountered this error: "Here is what the partitions look like - there appears to be a 10mb free partition on the new SSD - is this what is causing the error?"?

Consider reducing the hard drive partition by about 50GB using the Windows Partition Manager. If that doesn’t resolve the issue, you could explore alternative tools such as Macrium Reflect Free.

Yes, I am guessing you have at least a little unused space on the drive

The drive format works with GPT, but it doesn’t require an MBR for booting. The fact that Macrum reflects doesn’t support GPT might be a separate issue you need to address.

Ensure the cloned drive aligns with the partition format of the source drive. Generally, I avoid creating partitions before cloning and keep drives unformatted. If the tool restricts this, adjust the partition style to match the original boot drive.
