Hey! My memory upgrade to 32GB 3600MHz DDR4 went smoothly until Windows update for my MSI Mystic Light. After the download finished, the system shut down completely except for the RGB lighting. I suspected something was wrong and turned off the power for a while. When I restarted, I heard a click similar to what I used to hear from the PSU, but the computer didn’t respond—no fans, no noise. I tried reinstalling the old memory, disconnecting everything from the PSU, removing the GPU, but nothing worked. Any advice?
It's possible your system was about to stop working due to a failing part, and the upgrade caused it. Unless you made mistakes, your old memory should still allow the system to boot. Make sure all power cables and connectors are secure, reattach the CPU, GPU, and RAM, then test on another reliable machine. In my view, the PSU and motherboard are the most common issues. It helps to inspect each component carefully before concluding which one is the problem. Good luck!
