Hi all, I downloaded and installed Fortnite today and so far I played it for 2 hours in total. Earlier today I exited out of the game and went to play Dying Light. Then after that I came back to Fortnite and in the battle royale party screen/menu, it crashed without even me entering the game. Then it took me to Epic Games Launcher with the crash message saying if I'm experiencing issues with dx12 I should switch to dx11. I read the logs and I found out that the highlights of the error are
Unhandled Exception: EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION reading address 0x0000001000000000
and
Error: Hitch detected on gamethread (frame hasn't finished for 300.42ms)
. I'm afraid this could mean that my GPU or RAM is damaged as I have no overclock applied so I'm seeking for help. But the thing is I played Dying Light for hours before this and I experienced 0 issues and 0 crashes. This error only happened once though and I'm playing the game right now with no errors.
Can anyone help please? I read online that this is a known issue for Fortnite and it's caused by dx12 and switching to dx11 would help. I also read that it means that the display driver is corrupted and I have to reinstall it (even though I already reinstalled it before playing Fortnite), or the game has bad files (I just verified them) but I need confirmation or valid information (because there are many answers and each of them is different) before I proceed. As I said I have no overclock at all.
PS- I had an older graphics card driver when this happened, I didn't realize there was a driver update and I just updated it.

Thank you for your assistance. However, I don't have the service set up and can't locate the steps in the task manager. It seems it might not be part of the audio driver or is already turned off. Appreciate the help!
