If he hits 2933mhz it’s a free performance. It’s tougher to get four sticks set up compared to two on Zen/Zen+. I’ve seen this in the Zen release—it’s nearly unachievable on that line of chips. I can’t push past 2666mhz with any setup, no matter the motherboard, CPU, or RAM I own. He can stop, he might try to lower it, but as long as he stays within safe limits and has the motivation, there’s no reason not to attempt it. In the worst case, he might learn a bit about overclocking. Ideally, he’d dial it in for free performance.

Maybe increase timings to get more MHz is a option, tough on Zen+ that wont gain performance since there is no infinity fabric...

No I am quite sure sunce there is no CCX in Zen+, 1st and 2nd gen also likes low cas latency... The best OP can do is to try and see if he gain anything from trading CAS for MHz but I doubt it...

Top results show the Infinity Fabric review and AMD Ryzen 5 1600X performance. The focus is on how frequency matters more than clock speed in gaming, with some improvement in frame rates and lower performance. The author shares personal testing on DDR4 kits built for the Zen platform, noting consistent results across benchmarks.
