It seems the board I swapped the PSU for today is still having the same issue. I’ll keep this open for a couple more days just in case someone knows what’s behind it, not just the board. My next move: everything was tested and cleared before posting. My peripherals are functioning properly—ports supply power when connected, but USB devices like mice and keyboards aren’t working. I’m still confused about what to do. This is the first time I’ve seen something like this; I’m really stuck. Hey everyone, I have no idea what happened. I thought I’d disabled Windows updates and used Winaero, maybe a software glitch caused it. But after giving up on troubleshooting, I reformatted everything and restarted. The first thing I saw when I booted into fresh Windows was promising. Anyone else facing similar problems? Thanks a lot! I have work in the morning and might not be able to handle two USB ports.
It seems you're checking for hidden or unknown USB devices that might not be active. You're concerned about potential interference from a peripheral. Try removing the hub and connecting the mouse and keyboard on separate USB ports to confirm what's present. This process is simply verifying functionality, not performing any action. The phrase "not being able to get away with just two USB ports" suggests additional devices are likely there beyond the mouse and keyboard.
I’d probably be in agreement, but everything seemed fine otherwise. This morning I powered it off using the hard shutdown button, and it took about 20 minutes to come back online. I’d understand if there were issues with wires or an open case. I’m just confused and tired, and I don’t want to deal with this when I need to work. Thanks for your help!
3.0 functions correctly for 3.0, yet other versions aren’t working. It seems it might be 2.0; I haven’t used them much, but now they’re not functioning either. The only operational ports are the two connected ones, and those are operating normally.
Everyone is trying to boost performance. If I connect my RGB mousepad to any of them, it functions properly. That’s why I assumed the issue was related to the software, even though I cleared Windows completely before writing this.
