Hey there, I just got a new PC and I've been trying to set it up with an SSD for faster boot times. But I'm running into more issues than I thought. I keep seeing errors when trying to make a disk image. 0x807800A1 is really frustrating! I've gone through all the usual steps and still end up stuck. I checked the error codes and tried these fixes: 1. Turn off the antivirus (Norton was preinstalled). 2. Disable the firewall (Windows' default setting). 3. Verify the volume shadow copy service – it's running and its dependencies are working. 4. Get frustrated. 5. Use a third-party tool to move the OS to a new drive (some generic errors make me feel like I need the premium version). 6. Reinstall Windows (random volume error when copying files). Anyone have any suggestions? P.S. It's my first day here and my first post – please be kind.

If fresh installation causes issues, the hardware might be faulty. However, if you need to relocate your system, avoid relying too much on VSS service. Create a USB bootable cloner (such as Macrium Reflect Rescue USB) after installing the software, then start your system from the USB drive and clone it. BUT—since fresh installs often fail, the safest option is to use another computer to clone your OS and address hardware problems on your original machine.
