Hello, Your laptop HDD stopped working suddenly after a crash. In the BIOS you noticed it listed the drive as 0Gb instead of 1TB. You tried using Windows Media Creation Tool for Windows 10 and encountered a BSOD while troubleshooting. You're unsure if the USB stick is damaged. It's an Asus X407U with an i3-6006U processor and 4GB RAM, purchased about a year ago with Windows preinstalled.

Ensure the Windows version on the recovery drive matches the one you're attempting to restore. For boot repair or BCD fixes, this isn't critical. Consider using a tool like Rufus to write a Windows 10 ISO onto the USB stick. If you require a valid ISO link, I can provide one for a specific Windows 10 release (e.g., 1903, 1909, 2004). It seems you're experiencing an issue with accessing or installing the tool again, despite having backups. Could you clarify what exactly is preventing you from entering it now?

Consider checking the USB stick on another machine or using a different port. It might be defective. The issue is probably resolved by reinstalling the USB recovery setup.
