Browser, version and system: Windows 10 Steps to recreate/previous actions? I attempted to set up Windows on a freshly assembled PC and encountered numerous error messages and blue screens before losing my display. What occurred? I installed Windows on a newly built machine, which initially started normally. After installing the 8 GB flash drive containing the Windows 10 installer, I reached roughly 80% completion when I received error code 0x8007025D and experienced a blue screen. I repeatedly tried using or not using the Windows key, followed various YouTube tutorials, but the same error persisted. After about an hour of inactivity, I powered on the PC without making any changes and still couldn’t see anything on the monitor. I experimented by moving the HDMI cable to another GPU port, removing a RAM stick, ensuring all connections were secure, and using a metal flathead screwdriver to adjust the CMOS jumper pins (since I lacked a jumper cap). The issue wasn’t with my monitor, as it works fine on another PC. Here are my system details: Ryzen 3 3100 AMD Stock Stealth Cooler, Asrock B450 HDV, Rev. 4.0, Corsair LPX 2x8GB, 2400MHz, Teamgroup MS30 512GB, Asus Dual RX 580 4GB, Sama Neview 4361, EVGA 450 BT, 80+ Bronze, 450W, Windows 10 Home. What outcome were you anticipating? I hoped to boot directly into Windows without any prior issues during startup. Link to a page where this happened, if relevant: Thanks for your assistance! Your support means a lot.
The blue screens during Windows installation on your new system could stem from hardware or BIOS issues. If the Windows copy is fine, check for RAM problems—set frequency to 2133 MHz, disable all profiles, and run everything in raw mode. Ensure your GPU is functioning properly. Also, verify that your power supply provides at least 850W or 1000W, as insufficient wattage can cause instability and crashes. Upgrading to a higher wattage PSU will help prevent future BSODs.
Checked Reddit—it looks like the RAM might be the problem. Try removing one stick to test. Alternatively, the SSD could be faulty; RAM tests are straightforward, so try swapping a stick and see if the system boots. >Link to the Reddit thread with details
For a Windows installation via USB, use a USB 2.0 port. Ports above that may interfere with the setup process.
He likely uses a current MOBO format. Most Windows versions support 3.0 at that point, and you connect the USB to the motherboard.
You may need to configure the driver for your motherboard, obtain chipset IDE or SATA files from the manufacturer's site, save them to a USB drive, locate the appropriate driver when encountering the error again, and use it during Windows installation. NOTE: Another option is to click 'Cancel' on the message, disconnect the USB, connect it to a different port, and test installation without errors.
I managed to overcome that eventually, but now I’m stuck in a cycle of trying to install Windows, encountering a blue screen, retrying, and receiving error 0x8007025D. You mentioned also wanting to set the driver for your motherboard. Edit: I discovered a driver on their site titled "SATA Floppy Image_CC ver:9.3.0.296." Are you referring to that? Edit 2: I reached around 10% progress but then hit error code 0xc0000005. I went into my BIOS and cleared the SSD before powering off the PC. I haven’t tried again since.
What kind of motherboard are you using? I'm here to help you verify it.
