Apologies for the delayed response. I didn’t get any alerts and eventually overlooked it because of an issue when I first used this machine a long time ago. Hardware details: Windows 7 Home Premium 32bit, Intel Core 2 Quad Q8300, 2GB RAM, no dedicated graphics card.

I'm at my limits with choices, so I'm looking for a longer solution.

Checking if you're applying the latest Win7 SP1 and encountering issues during setup. Confirming whether the problem lies in the new release or an older version. Clarifying if you're starting from scratch or modifying an existing installation.

You can obtain the standalone version of sp1 for Windows 7 without relying on Windows Update.

Did you apply the automatic update feature or install the patch yourself? Remember, back then the Windows update process was often slow and had some issues.

I've been trying to install manually for a while now, but it didn't change anything. So far, I just waited for Windows Update to fix it somehow, lol. Also, when I ran the System Update Readiness Tool, it confirmed everything was okay.
