Yesterday I relocated my main work machine. It has been very stable for months, but now it crashes with BSODs within 15 minutes after every startup (sometimes during boot, sometimes after 15 minutes, and at random times). The interior was cleaned, and I checked many connections. After switching to Linux, everything worked perfectly—no software changes since the move. Zero new issues detected. I’m unsure what else to test; could this be a power-related problem? I have solar panels, but the issue happened last night (meaning I’m likely running off-grid). The problem appears in both idle and active states, so power supply seems unlikely unless there’s something unclear about it. I’m prepared to disassemble and rebuild if needed. If re-seating everything helps, it might resolve GPU issues in the PCIe slot. If not, I could swap parts from my roommate’s computer—mostly used models. I need to be productive now, but this machine isn’t reliable enough for work. Could anyone else be aware of debugging or logging that might help diagnose this?

Start by examining the blue screen error code or message. The Event Viewer can provide additional information. I anticipate a hardware problem, but a quick look at the event details might help identify the specific component.

Do you have the system specifications ready? It might assist in providing diagnostic advice.

Got the cables, memory, and GPU working again. Everything seems normal now. Checked Event Viewer but didn’t spot anything suspicious. If this happens again, I’ll let you know.

Hardware: 5950x, b550-i Asus Strix (itx b550 motherboard), 308ti EVGA FTW3, 64GB RAM.
