Yesterday I assembled a brand new PC and after installing Steam or any Steam games, my system crashes with a BSOD. After reinstalling drivers and updating them, no fix was found. Many forums suggested trying different RAM configurations, but that didn’t help. Interestingly, other applications like UPlay and Origin still function properly, yet Steam refuses to work. My hardware specs are: Intel i5-4690K, GeForce GTX 970, 2x4GB RAM, 650W Corsair power supply, and Windows 7 64-bit. I’m relatively new to this and don’t know how to create a Mini Dump or what else might help. The error message shown after boot was: Problem signature: BlueScreen OS Version: 6.1.7601.2.1.0.256.1 Locale ID: 1033 Additional info: BCCode: 3b BCP1: 00000000C0000005 BCP2: FFFFF8800169456B BCP3: FFFFF8800BC117C0 BCP4: 0000000000000000 OS Version: 6_1_7601 Service Pack: 1_0 Product: 256_1

The BSOD occurs during the installation process, typically when the system encounters issues during setup.

It could be connected to the hardware or might stem from a driver problem. Checking the discussion about the BSOD during Steam game installation might provide useful insights.
