Error displayed on motherboard for MSI X570 Unify system
Last night I returned from work, booted normally on Windows, then used the Windows Key + L shortcut to secure my system. When I opened it this morning, I realized several entries were already filled on the login page. My keyboard and mouse stopped working entirely, so I restarted the machine only to find it no longer reached BIOS. The motherboard displayed an error code “0d,” indicating my CPU wasn’t being recognized. Despite having the newest BIOS and components for three years, I noticed others with similar problems had built fresh PCs, while mine is aging. I cleared the CMOS, reinserted RAM, swapped the RAM sticks, tried another GPU, double-checked all power connections, switched cables, and re-placed the CPU. No bent pins were visible, and there were no obvious physical damages. Over time I suspect the hardware itself might be faulty. Since I don’t have spare motherboards or CPUs, I’m leaning toward a hardware failure. I’m not sure if malware could be the cause—my experience suggests it’s unlikely given my cautious browsing habits. If anyone else faced this situation, please share the steps you followed. If replacing the CPU is the only option, someone with a comparable setup might help review this troubleshooting path.
