I own two laptops. I took apart one and installed the M.2 SSD on my desktop. It worked fine on the first try, loading the laptop's windows smoothly on the desktop and running efficiently, showing that the desktop's RAM and other components are functioning properly. My relatives have two desktop PCs, but they warned me that opening them to test might cause problems since they've had issues in the past when someone tried it.
