Hello everyone, whenever I unplug my PC from the power source while turning it on, it triggers an error code—specifically a long beep followed by three short sounds—that seems related to the GPU. The LED also appears to blink as if the system is in sleep mode, even though it's active. Restarting the PC resolves the issue, but it doesn't return unless I completely disconnect it from power (after shutdown). Could anyone suggest what might be causing this? Thanks.

The build is quite old. You might be dealing with a dead CMOS battery.

Details available. Also, consider swapping out the GPU.

Asus Z690 PRIME P D4 with Corsair 16GB kit at 3200MHz Intel Core i7 12700K GTX 980. Also, faced some issues linking the front IO connectors initially—power LED placement varied across pin sets in the manual, but the PC only powered on when the cable was inserted into one set. Unclear if this is connected.

Sorry, I didn't notice the GPU is outdated; the rest is brand new.

I changed the GPU again, reconnected everything and the issue continued. I took out and then reinstalled the CMOS battery and the computer displayed a new error code. After removing the GPU and starting without it, the problem disappeared. Could it mean the GPU is faulty? It functions properly when used otherwise.

Sure, it could work. A varied example would be helpful. Weird is fine!
