I’m setting up my first PC after finishing the assembly. The motherboard reported an error code, so I took out one of the RAM sticks and everything functioned properly. The issue appears to come from the B1/B2 slots. I saw a suggestion to loosen the CPU cooler screws, but that didn’t help me. I’m using an Asus Maximus XI Hero Wi-Fi Intel i9 9900K with Corsair Vengeance LPX 16x2Gb 3600 and no graphics card yet. Thanks ahead of time!

Code "CC" isn't found in the motherboard manual's Q-Code section. It could also indicate an issue with the CPU or RAM. This might also relate to a motherboard fault. Possible reasons include BIOS issues (such as an outdated BIOS), RAM problems (like defective RAM modules), CPU cooler problems (e.g., improper or overly tight mounting), or motherboard defects (like bent or damaged socket pins). From your troubleshooting, it appears one of your Corsair RAM sticks is defective from the factory. However, you mentioned problems in slots B1 and B2 on your motherboard. It would be wise to remove the CPU and inspect the socket for bent, damaged, or dirty pins. Also examine the bottom side of the CPU, the gold contact pads, and look for any dirt, thermal paste, or damage.

Submit the board (warranty) The solution appeared on the second page of the ROG Forum recommending loosening the heatsink. 01-06-2018 08:27 PM #13 xenon2008 Greetings! I received the replacement motherboard yesterday, allowing me to begin assembly and installation today. What should I do? So far everything functions without issues, but there are still many components to install, set up, or test. If anything fails, I’ll post again. Appreciate your support! 01-23-2018 04:59 PM #14 dsmtoday Originally Posted by dsmtoday 01-30-2018 03:15 AM #15 I experienced the same problem with Maximus X Code. The first board wouldn’t boot and showed an error for RAM in slot A2 (CC/55). I verified the CPU socket and pins were correct, but had to return it to Amazon for a replacement. The new board was shipped after the first attempt.
