I've been experiencing BSODs lately. The error messages change: MEMORY_MANAGEMENT (1a), IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL (a), CRITICAL_PROCESS_DIED (ef). Each incident seems to vary slightly. System details: CPU AMD Ryzen 5 3600, GPU Zotac Nvidia rtx 3060ti, PSU Corsair RM650x, RAM Corsair Vengeance 4x 8GB 3600MHz DDR4 (CMK16GX4M2D3600C18), Mouse Corsair B450 Tomahawk Max. I’m fine with the RAM setup—two 8GB sticks have been in use for over a year. Recently added another pair of 8GB sticks and they’re identical. But the older ones show version 3.31 while the new ones are 5.32. I ran memory tests with all four sticks; failures appeared quickly, especially after three or more attempts. With just the newer sticks, failures show up early. When testing in safe mode with networking, no crashes yet—about 25 minutes passed. But when running normally, it crashes before ten minutes with a BSOD and one of these issues. I’ve saved the dump files and placed them in WinDbg, but can’t upload them due to safe mode restrictions. I’ll try transferring them to my Mac and share the results. Thanks for your time—I’m trying to stay concise.

Highly suspect the RAM OC is unstable (and Yes, XMP is considered OC). The memory controller on ryzen 3000 series probably can't handle 4 sticks ram running at 3600mhz because OC 4 sticks of RAM are the most difficult situation. This MB isn't the best for ram OC as well. Here are something I recommend you to do: 1. Enable XMP but tweak the ram speed to 3200mhz 2. If you really want 32G of ram at 3600mhz on your current platform, buy 16G*2 instead of 8G * 4 3. For 2, you can also swap platform to B550/X570 and ryzen 5000 series if you want to keep those Ram

You're already aware it's a RAM problem. However, both failures would be unusual if this is XMP support. What BIOS version do you have now? The 3400-3600 range works better on 3000 series with 1.0.0.6, so I wouldn't rush to replace the CPU just because of that. Still, ideally, I'd opt for a 5000 series for a 4-stick AM4 setup, though stability can be an issue especially with non-standard configurations like yours.

Your RAM performance isn't necessarily a sign of damage. Running it at 3200 MHz is within typical limits, but ensure your motherboard and CPU support that speed. Memtest results reflect hardware stability, not memory condition.

My BIOS version is E7C02AMS.3C3. Build date for BIOS: 27 September 2021. I attempted this memory setup using the BIOS settings (attached image) and configured it to 3200. The BSDO shows up immediately after the Mobo logo with several distinct error messages: system thread exception not handled, kmode exception not handled.

I adjusted the DRAM frequency to 3000 and skipped the "Memory Try It!" option. I’m running the latest configuration with two RAM sticks and haven’t experienced any crashes yet. Normally I’d crash during Apex Legends, but so far it’s holding up. Running MemTest under this configuration shows a failure on test #2. It’s unclear if the issue is the clock speed or if the RAM is defective. Despite the "fail" result, my system didn’t crash as expected before. Note: After restarting, my PC crashed again with messages about memory management and kernel security checks. Updated July 21, 2023 by Fenrir8080
