Error code BSoD indicates a HyperVisor issue.
Since the most recent Windows Update, my PC consistently displays a blue screen with a HyperVisor Error when I power it on. I don’t rely on virtual machines. I’ve attempted booting in safe mode and followed every guide available, but the Verifier process still shows issues—especially with mouse and keyboard drivers failing. Even though some applications like Notepad won’t open in safe mode, I can’t access the DMP file because it’s locked by certain programs. Disabling EXPO and checking for driver updates in safe mode doesn’t help either. The Clock Watchdog Timeout error has also occurred frequently, often after multiple restarts in the past couple of hours. I recently received the latest DMP file (021923-4953-01.dmp) and built this machine with all new components. It has run smoothly until that update triggered the problem.
Hi MattMusky, I reviewed the debug file analysis for you. The results are listed below. I’ll keep refining this and send you more updates soon. In the meantime, have you been adjusting your RAM or CPU speeds? Did you reset your BIOS settings? Best regards, Yiannagon
Thank you for reviewing that file. It seems you might need additional logs beyond just driver data. I've disabled EXPO for RAM usage and avoided overclocking the CPU.
Hello MattMusky, I understand you mentioned difficulty accessing Windows Update in Safe Mode. Could you attempt to remove your latest update by following these instructions (provided by Microsoft Support - https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/sbs/...73142c14ad)? Keep the power button pressed for 10 seconds to shut down your device, then release it when Windows starts. Wait for a moment before pressing it again to turn it back on. When it restarts, keep the power button active for 10 seconds to shut it down once more. After restarting, go to the Control Panel and follow these steps: type "control panel" in the taskbar search, choose it, then click Uninstall a program under Programs. Switch to Programs and Features if using large/small icons. On the left, pick View installed updates and sort by installation date to find recent ones. Click Yes when prompted. *Reminder: Some updates may not allow uninstallation. 5. Choose Restart Now to fully remove the update.*
Notes: If you need help exiting Safe Mode, press the Windows logo key + R, type msconfig, and click OK. Go to the Boot tab, clear the Safe boot checkbox. Let me know if this helps.
Maybe your master boot record is damaged or you need to reset your BCD. Use the command prompt in the recovery setup. Try bootrec /rebuildbcd or bootrec /fixmbr. Are your motherboards connected via onboard video? Is the problem continuing? Updated February 19, 2023 by WackySpace
Your PC isn’t posting anymore, the VGA indicator stays lit, and there’s no video output. You’ve checked both your GPU’s and motherboard’s video connections, but it still doesn’t work. You’re stuck until you resolve the issue.
