Hey there, I’ve been running an Asus Prime B660M-A D4 board with 2x8GB RAM (Corsair Vengeance LPX 3200MHz, CMK16GX4M2B3200C16, version 5.32) in A2 and B2 slots for more than three years without any problems. But lately things have started to slow down. I notice lag when scrolling on certain websites in Chrome, occasional system hiccups, and a few times the PC froze while playing EU4 with YouTube open. About a week ago, during a game session, my machine crashed for a couple of seconds before restarting itself. I’ve tried checking drivers, updating BIOS, and running MemTest86 – it showed over 300 errors. After some repairs (reinstalling RAM and CPU, reapplying thermal paste), the issue disappeared temporarily. Now I’m using stock RAM speeds with default BIOS settings, and everything seems to work smoothly except for occasional freezes. I also discovered that my RAM version (5.32) isn’t officially supported by the motherboard, which only lists 4.35 and below. This mismatch might be contributing to the instability after all this time. Or could it be a sign of a failing module? Any tips or advice would be really helpful. Thanks a lot! P.S. Here are the minidump files I collected: 012525-12921-01.dmp, 012525-13015-01.dmp, 012825-13625-01.dmp, 012825-13859-01.dmp, 012825-13875-02.dmp.

Memtest detected memory issues, suggesting possible faulty RAM. If it previously ran smoothly at 3200MHz but no longer does, the problem is likely there. Replace the RAM and consider it resolved.

Testing each ram individually shows just one defective unit. Decide if purchasing a replacement is worthwhile or if adjusting clock settings first makes sense.

It seems unclear what you need. Would you like to receive a new kit? A 2x16GB option is available.

I understand, I was not expressing myself clearly. Because only one of the two sticks is bad, I’ll use just one. Can I speed up that single stick?

Yes, it's possible, but performance will lag behind the slowest devices with two sticks. The choice between single and dual channels isn't worthwhile. Plus, 8GB storage isn't enough for modern tasks.

Consider RAM options that complement the 12400F. Since you're not happy with Corsair, look into other reputable brands like G.Skill, Crucial, or Kingston for reliable performance.

It's not that they vary much. You might want to check the warranty options or purchase a simple kit. Remember, 3200mhz is fine, so just use the PCPartPicker list: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/WPhsNP Memory: Silicon Power GAMING 32 GB (2 x 16 GB) DDR4-3200 CL16 Memory ($42.97 @ Newegg Sellers) Total: $42.97 Prices cover shipping, taxes, and discounts if any. Maybe it wasn't available or isn't among the tested options, but that doesn't matter. The same ICs are used by larger brands too. Likely it's Nanya or similar.
