A startup repair allowed me to exit the loop and boot into Windows. Currently, I’m facing a Bad Image issue that prevents program installation and startup. The specific error is VC_redist.x64.exe - Bad Image C:\\WINDOWS\\WinSxS\x86_microsoft.windows.common-controls_6595b64144ccf1df_6.0.22000.120_none_e541a94fcce8ed6d\COMCTL32.dll Error status 0xc000012f. Previous attempts to install the latest Windows update or Visual C++ Redistributable resulted in the same problem. The CHKDSK scan completed but didn’t resolve the issue. Windows Resource Protection blocked the installation process, and the DISM tool remained stuck at 62.3%. I’m trying the OS feature experience pack as a workaround. Quality improvements are temporary beta versions. Microsoft releases these to home users for testing before rolling them out to businesses. Consider reverting them and steering clear of similar updates going forward. "Feature updates" also warrant careful consideration.
