I've received an Asus Zephryus G14 GA401IU.220 2021 at a reduced price from my brother. He mentioned it frequently crashes or freezes, requiring a reboot to resolve. Both he and I are experiencing the same problem despite using different operating systems—he was using Linux while I have Windows 11. My brother noted the issue didn’t occur when the laptop ran on battery, only when plugged in. He also said it might be related to graphics switching between built-in and dedicated GPU. I’ve tried updating drivers, checking BIOS, and even used a driver verifier, but nothing resolved it. I’ve shared some dump files that hint at an AMD driver problem, though I updated the chipset driver from Asus’ site and other major updates without success. A recent green screen appeared, which was unusual for me, and generated no logs. I suspect a video driver issue, but I haven’t tested that yet. My brother believes it was resolved when the laptop wasn’t on battery. Please let me know if this helps or if you have more details!
If it comes with a warranty, follow the warranty instructions. Otherwise, examine the dump files—this appears to be RAM. You have two RAM modules; remove one to test stability. If it fails, swap it out for the other. If both fail, the issue likely lies with the CPU itself. We've encountered many 4800H CPUs that appear as RAM when defective. Some users have managed to bypass the problem by disabling cores, but Ryzen Master isn't available for mobile CPUs, so we can't pinpoint a specific core. Most attempts involve disabling half the cores in msoncfig, with results varying randomly. We've also tried BIOS updates, chipset updates, and various BIOS tweaks without success.
