Hey everyone. On one of my PCs that I hadn’t used recently, I powered it on and saw a blank screen right away. After a few seconds, it emitted a long beep followed by two short ones and the postcode 0d. The motherboard is a Crosshair Hero VIII with 32 GB Corsair 3600MHz RAM (4x8GB) and a 3900X CPU. I’ve never had any problems before; I was just turning it back on today and got this issue. How can I fix it? It took about five minutes for the system to boot, but then it froze on the desktop. After restarting, I encountered a C5 error code and the machine became stuck.
Computers seem to malfunction instantly, yet they always seem to repair themselves on their own. (And telling someone they didn’t cause the issue won’t fix it, no matter how often you say it.)
Consider testing one stick at a time to check for boot issues. If each works alone, attempt with two sticks next.
Agree. Maybe motherboard went crazy, try clear CMOS? Man, all these newer systems and components are shit.. I can't believe PC went into issues from not using it.... I have like27 years old PC Pentium II which boots fine. I believe this MoBo has some special buttons like Safe Boot etc... I see some keys at bottom part of MoBo. I will check the manual what those buttons do, I believe it has to do when MoBo has issues with RAM. How can PC "become dead" after not using it at all?????
The room is packed with computers and their cases. Because the PC case is big and has glass sides, I need to free up space so I can open the chassis. I don’t want to fix PCs right now due to a health problem. I plan to clean the room today and maybe replace one RAM stick at a time, then update my report tomorrow. Right now it’s stuck at C5 code. Oh no, the motherboard seems to be acting up—my keyboard lights up with RGB and the startup button is on too. Will using those two buttons help me?
You've reordered everything and are stuck at code 10. What should you try next?
