He needs to relocate his PC tower to a different room whenever he wants to use the Valve Index VR. We've tested various solutions like cable extenders, docking stations, couplers, and KVM adapters, but none worked. It looks like the dp on his 3-way cable won't function properly if it isn't plugged directly into the PC. We've seen other people manage to get it working. We're looking for assistance. The distance between the PC and the VR headset is about 10 meters or 30 feet.

Use an optical cable rated at least 1.4 times the distance for optimal performance.

We tested two distinct optical DP cables, but neither functioned properly.

Consider how standard DP functions with connections between displays and PCs. This helps clarify the details.

Apologies Claire, thank you for sharing that information. This is your first time on the site. We checked the two optical displays on our computer and monitor, but nothing occurred. It actually stopped the signal to my second screen, leaving blank screens until we unplugged the optical display. I normally use non-optical displays for both my monitors and tower, which function perfectly. I believe we initially attempted a standard, non-optical display, and it didn’t work either.
