Epic Games acknowledged making a mistake with the Overpowered Infinity Blade in Fortnite
That seems to be a regular trend these days. Need for Speed Payback felt like its own developers had absolutely no idea what made NFS games fun (it was fiddling with cars and cops). And yet they turned fiddling with cars into a freaking slot machine and removed cops entirely from free roam. Like, do you ppl even know what the hell are you doing? And don't get me started on things we had in older NFS games going over decade back that was just gone in a modern game. Fallout 76 was a similar thing. It's like they had no clue why people loved Fallout or The Elder Scrolls. Or latest Battlefield V...
Games from the 90's were made because someone was passionate about designing incredible experience and also earning bucks for a living. These days it seems it's all about churning out same games every year and milking money. Zero passion or feel that people doing them are are really invested into gaming or that they are gamers themselves.
I mean, wouldn't you expect a developer of Need for Speed to know everything about the iconic series before doing them? Same goes for programmers and creative directors. It should be a prerequisite before you're even hired.
The blade inflicts 50% target hp damage per hit and offers a full multi-hit lifesteal with a 10m range, bouncing off any enemy within 100m of the initial target. The lifesteal grants excessive healing that acts as a shield, absorbing all damage. The blade delivers a 100% crit rate, causing paralysis and bleeding effects. Its passive "Shmoogley" provides complete stealth if enemies are close enough. The active "PWNED" lets the user fly double the blade's effects, though it requires a buff.
It seems like Epic might have made a public statement about ending all Infinity Blade content, though that could be incorrect.
Can they simply focus on creating fresh UT features and bring the BR back onto a massive map-style UT game?
they have and then took action by
releasing all game assets for free
. Still, I would really like to see it come back, especially that one game that almost convinced me to buy an iPad when they announced it.
But because the game was never released, I missed out on getting that iPad.
They didn't actually do it. Just before this post, they posted another saying the item would remain and they planned to add more similar ones. They removed it only after facing criticism from players who were worried about fewer skins being purchased.
They even held a $1M tournament while it was still available.
