Hey everyone, I've been checking out version 8.1 and found some nice features. It's available for £50 as a Pro edition. Do you think it's a good upgrade compared to Windows 7? Or should I hold off until version 9? Feel free to ask if you have any doubts! Thanks!

For this cost, I recommend taking it. Windows 9 isn’t expected again for another year (though I’m not sure, just making an assumption).

I transitioned from Vista to Windows 8, bypassing Windows 7, and I believe it was a good decision.

It's a good upgrade. You might prefer using the metro for a bit before making the switch. Once the week passes, you'll see it runs faster than the start menu. Make sure your device supports it and has compatible drivers. A fresh installation is recommended over an upgrade.

Windows 9 isn't expected until late 2015. If you're looking for a fresh operating system, I didn't like Windows 8 at first, but I recently discovered the power users menu which really helps. Now everything works smoothly, it's great to be part of a team and living our dream!

It's pointless and unless you're one of those well-dressed individuals using tablets and mediocre laptops (which I doubt you are), it's a loss of money.
