I would have upgraded if possible, but I remained on version 7 until at least January 2016. The main issue with the new start menu was the slow search feature and the ads I believe could be blocked. This assumes StartIsBack resolves the search problem; otherwise, it’s pointless.

I enjoy the updated start menu with its tiles, and I just wished the all programs section was more user-friendly.

I wouldn’t use it if I didn’t enjoy it. I’m not getting used to the whole tile system, so I’m sticking with my own approach and mixing Windows 7 with Windows XP start menus.

You're switching to Start 10 now. It brings back the Windows 7 interface with a slightly updated feel. While the new start menu isn't perfect, it still has some issues I've noticed.
