You're experiencing an issue with resuming your session after sleep on your dual-boot setup. It sounds like the login prompt is being blocked by a password policy. Try disabling the password prompt during sleep by adjusting your login settings or using a different method to enter credentials. If that doesn't work, check for any specific restrictions in your Linux Mint configuration.

I attempted to turn off "Lock the computer when put to sleep" and "Lock the computer after the screensaver starts," and it functioned for me.

Check the app store or documentation for Mint 18.3 MATE. It might be listed under advanced settings or a hidden menu.

Sorry, I didn<|pad|> to miss your signature. I'm using Cinnamon. I'll try it when I get home and get back to you.

I prefer the MATE interface more, and it performs well.

I just tried it and it functions properly. Open the Screensaver Preferences, remove the check for "Lock screen when screensaver is active," and it won’t prompt for a password when you resume from sleep.

It's completely unexpected for me. Thanks for letting me know it worked. I'm not sure what happened—I think I might have missed something.
