I’ve identified my cooling setup and the issue. I’m using a Thermaltake SpinQ for my 3600 CPU, but it’s underperforming. On my Java Minecraft server with a Phenom II setup, I have a Cooler Master Hyper 212 cooler with two 80mm fans that fits. I’m unsure how to safely remove the SpinQ, as a previous attempt caused the cooler to tilt and damaged the CPU pins. I need guidance on the proper removal process. I’m currently using the stock brackets on an Asus ROG Strix B350-F Gaming.

I'm not familiar with SpinQ yet, but my method involves twisting the cooler once it's removed from the PGA chip, then lifting it sideways while applying pressure on one side. This technique is very effective for breaking the bond while ensuring the chip stays in place.

The issue lies with how the cooler is attached. To take it off, loosen tension on one side, then detach the bracket or arm so it lets go from the other side. Earlier, trying to remove it caused the thermal paste to pull the CPU out at an angle, bending the pins.

Preheat the thermal paste before taking out the cooler. Execute a CPU-heavy task for 15 to 20 minutes. Use Prime95 or a similar tool. Afterward, shut down the system and remove the cooler.

This could damage me, but if I stop it once it’s been running solely on the GPU for F@H, I’ll have to wait five minutes just to get my hand into the case.

Consider inserting dental floss between the cooler and CPU to disrupt the surface tension.

We only have plastic gloves available. The ones I used were made for a 7-year-old, not a 14-year-old.

If it's really stuck, you could use your TP cleaner, apply it to the floss, and gently move it through. Add more cleaner when needed.
