Your router is positioned about 30 feet away, so a direct LAN cable works well. You won’t lose speed as long as the cable is short and unobstructed.

Normal Ethernet cables affect performance only when they exceed 100 meters. A Wi-Fi booster tends to slow things down significantly, often reducing speed noticeably.

You can still use the cable without sacrificing speed, as some sources suggest you won’t lose performance with a longer Ethernet connection.

Ummm.. But yeah whoever told you that about 'slowing down' is misinformed, as per Lurick you'll have the same amount of bandwidth up to the 100 meter specification.

I was a bit mixed up with the two options. I recently purchased a 30m Cat6 Ethernet cable and it should arrive within a few days.
