Hey, I see what you're dealing with. You're trying to play CS:GO without Steam and want to avoid admin rights for the launcher. Is there a way to modify the launcher settings so it skips admin checks?

It's against the law to circumvent school securities using computers or similar technology. There are alternatives, but we can't provide them.

We're confident we won't run into issues sharing this information, so we'll avoid it. I'm using CS 1.6 on the school computer alongside my classmates in Comsci. You'd need to transfer it via USB and have the necessary permissions that others don't have.

It seems the installer needs certain privileges since it modifies files and sets up network settings. I haven't investigated deeply, so it's unlikely you'll succeed without the right access. You might attempt a USB boot to gain more control over the drive. If it involves security features, we won't be able to work around them.

I wasn't trying to skip the "school securities" rules. I was asking about ways to run a program without admin rights.

Obtaining admin rights to execute a program without proper authorization is against the law. Even if CS:GO is installed via Steam, running it independently still requires admin access. Programs needing admin privileges and their dependencies must be disclosed and blocked. Running CS:GO on a school computer violates these rules.

I’m not avoiding the requirement for an admin password. Instead, I’m skipping the need to use admin privileges. I have a version that works without Steam. The launcher, which normally needs admin access, pretends to be Steam for the program. CSGO itself doesn’t need admin rights, but it generates errors when the launcher isn’t properly set up.

This statement suggests avoiding administrative requirements, which is against the rules.
