specs: laptop: clevo n150rf (optimus) ssd: 500gb 850 evo gpu: gtx 965m (the newer model) newest drivers cpu: 6700hq ram: 16gb Windows 10 (latest) I've been enjoying League at 60fps with vsync working well, though there are occasional drops during intense team battles which is slightly bothersome but not major. Next week I'll have a 144hz external monitor, so I tested playing without vsync and limiting frames. The issue is that my frame rate stays under 144fps while laning and in team fights it hovers near 60 with the usual occasional dip below 60. I checked my GPU and CPU usage via msi afterburner and found both staying well under 50%. A few cores hit around 70%, others stayed at about 30%. I looked into some fixes but nothing resolved the problem. Anyone know what might be limiting my FPS?

It might be the GPU limiting the performance of the 6700HQ. I suspect a 965m is actually 960, which aren't top-tier for what they can handle. The current settings you're using could be causing a cap on FPS, making them less effective. It's better to avoid capped FPS altogether.

It might be the case you're expecting improvement, but reducing quality actually lowers FPS instead. Your usage keeps increasing while the framerate stays high. This happens even when using an uncapped frame rate.

Could the system be encountering a thermal or power constraint? If the GTX 965M were merely losing performance, you wouldn’t notice it capping at 50% utilization.

I've applied the cooling paste and used a cooling pad. The temperature in the area stays around 75°C with full load, which suggests it's fine. I've also reduced the voltage on my CPU to lower power consumption.

I just finished some tests and it seems the CPU handles everything. League mainly uses one CPU, which gets close to full capacity when there are lots of minions. This lowers my GPU usage to around 30%, which is why I’m getting under 100 FPS. If anyone knows how to enable multiple cores in League, I’d appreciate any advice.
