I’m planning to tackle some rework tasks for my UD3P. It might be best to start with an upgrade from G41 to G31—it seems like a straightforward transition since both use the same ICH7 chip, so no need to swap boards. I’m also keen on moving the P41 motherboard into a P45 socket because I can find affordable DDR3 boards for it. The only differences are extra SATA ports and PCI/PCIe slots, which shouldn’t be too big of an issue after my previous P5Q upgrade to a P5Q Pro Turbo. For the P45 chipset, I’ll need an ICH10 board if my current ICH7 setup doesn’t fit the new requirements. If the BGA layout changes significantly, it could complicate things, but I’ve managed to modify my P5Q to a P5Q Pro Turbo without major headaches. Overall, I’m hoping the higher-end boards will integrate smoothly into the lower-end ones since they’re mostly similar.
