Considering your needs, both 13600KF and 14600KF are available at comparable prices locally. If your budget is tight for either model, you might want to opt for the 14400 instead. There aren’t any better options than the 14400 in this case. Your current setup includes an RTX 3070 and a 1440p display, which should still support smooth gaming, editing, coding, and design tasks.

A 14400 offers a solid improvement right away. The 13 and 14600 models are decent, but for actual productivity, the 14 is the best choice.

Keep your bios current to prevent issues with the latest 13th and 14th generation CPUs. Avoid purchasing used units of these models.

The differences lie in how they enhance efficiency and output. Each offers unique benefits depending on your needs.

Higher clock rates and some optimization bring only small improvements, yet the 14th generation chip still performs better overall.

It seems you're reflecting on how helpful you felt. That's a great way to start!

14400f seems to be essentially a 13400f, which in turn is just a severely limited 12600k. So it won't be a strong upgrade compared to 13600k versus 14600k. The cheapest option is the one with 14th gen, as it's more of a refreshed version and performance gains are disappointing. The main difference now is the 14700k, which has 12 cores instead of 8 on the 13700k, making it a solid choice for productivity.

1) At least from what writtern its a 14400 over a 12400f which is both a performance uplift and you get integrated graphics (can help with video editing and photo editing) both of which are better 2)I did mention that the 14600kf is only slighlty better and thats why I said Which is not wrong. The 14th one is very slighlty better which objectively isnt wrong I dont disagree that the 13600kf is more worth it but if he can afford it why not?
